Technologies and what we use them for

Our daily work is maintaining web applications and improving their availability and performance. We are experts in ColdFusion and Lucee, alongside PHP with Craft CMS, Linux and DevOps, Proxmox, databases, JavaScript and Python.

Technologies with their own page: tasks, versions, common questions

  • Our engineers have run Adobe ColdFusion and Lucee in production continuously since 2015, even when documentation and author are missing.

  • Our engineers have worked with PHP, Smarty, Slim and WordPress since 2012, and with Craft CMS as well. We take over applications that are years old and move them to a supported PHP version. We keep them running, including Smarty and Twig templates and jQuery front ends.

  • Our engineers install and run Linux servers and apply updates in a maintenance window. We work on your infrastructure or at any provider and also cover virtualisation, access protection, WAF and central logs.

  • We move running applications into containers without rewriting them. The environment is then described in files that live in your repository, and it can be rebuilt on any suitable Linux server. We test new versions alongside production, and the way back stays open.

  • We set up Proxmox VE on your hardware and back up the virtual machines with tested restores. Updates up to the next major version follow a plan. We move old physical servers to Proxmox one machine at a time, with a way back.

  • Our engineers run MySQL and MariaDB, also as Galera clusters, and move data between databases, for example from Firebird to MariaDB. They also look after PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases.

  • We build new front ends for applications whose back end keeps running, and we move them off old jQuery versions. For new projects we recommend a front end on Node.js, for example Next.js with React and TypeScript. Whether a new stack suits your system is something we decide together with you.

  • Python with FastAPI is a good choice for back ends in a new stack, especially when an AI assistant is to be connected. In your system, Python is also an option when workflows are to be automated or data from several sources brought together. We help you choose the right technology.

All technologies and their use (As of 2026-10)

Technology What we use it for
ColdFusion and Lucee Maintenance, updates and migration from Adobe ColdFusion 9 to 2025 and Lucee 5 to 7; experience since 2015
PHP with Smarty, Slim and WordPress Takeover, update to PHP 8 and maintenance, including jQuery front ends; experience since 2012
Craft CMS Takeovers from agencies, updates, plugins and new websites. This website also runs on Craft CMS.
Linux and KVM Server operations, updates, backups with restore tests and virtualisation; full stack and DevOps experience since 2012
Docker Containers for existing applications with Lucee, Adobe ColdFusion and PHP
Proxmox Virtualisation, backups with restore tests, upgrades and moving old Linux servers to Proxmox
MySQL, MariaDB and Firebird Galera clusters, migrations between the systems, for example from Firebird to MariaDB
Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Oracle Applications in client projects that use these databases
Firewall, VPN, WAF, Loki and Grafana Network segmentation, administrative access over VPN, WAF rules for your application, central logs and dashboards
Postfix and Dovecot Your own mail servers, transactional mail, SPF, DKIM and DMARC
JavaScript and TypeScript (React, Next.js) New front ends, also for existing back ends; established jQuery front ends in client systems
Python (FastAPI) Automation, data integration, APIs and back ends, including for AI assistants

Which page answers your question?

If your application runs on ColdFusion or Lucee, ColdFusion & Lucee covers support dates and the security position. For PHP applications, PHP & Craft CMS shows the versions and how we handle Smarty and jQuery. Websites built with Craft CMS and WordPress have pages of their own.

Linux & DevOps covers servers, updates and hardening. The Docker page shows how we move existing applications into containers. Proxmox describes virtualisation and moving old servers, and Databases covers MySQL, MariaDB and other databases.

Under JavaScript & TypeScript and Python you can read what we use these languages for and where our experience with them comes from.

If you are not sure what your system is built with, that is no obstacle. The legacy review records versions and dependencies and documents the result in writing. The entry products are described under How we work.

If your technology is missing from the table, tell us about your situation. We will say whether we can help.

Not sure which service fits your system?

Describe your system in two sentences. We will tell you which service fits and whether an entry product at a fixed price is the right first step.
